Welcome to Marin Community Music School, where community members of all ages enjoy opportunities to study, play, and perform music in a wide range of styles.

Our mission is to provide music instruction, coaching, ensemble, and performance opportunities for community members of all ages and musical interests on a first-come, first-served basis, without regard to means, income, or any otherwise limiting factor.

MCMS by the numbers…

Opened in 2009, MCMS has been sharing music for over 15 years. We’ve welcomed 1,153 students from 870 households and helped them along the path of joyful music-making. Our students run the gamut age-wise, from 7 to 85.

And speaking of time, we’ve provided more than 22,235 hours of instruction and coaching. That’s a lot of singing and playing!

As a non-profit charitable resource, we rely on generous supporters in Marin and beyond for the continued development of our programs and to assist students in need. These wonderful friends of MCMS have provided $300,539 to date.
