Chamber Music Repertoire Winter 2026

Marin Community Music School welcomes pianists, string players, and wind players to play trios, quartets, and quintets under the guidance of pianist Nick Romeo.

We welcome players of all ages who have at least an intermediate level of skill on a stringed or woodwind instrument or piano and proficiency at reading music. We’ll help you go deeply into your assigned masterwork from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Modern repertoire.

In five weekly sessions starting February 1, you’ll spend two hours exploring and preparing your piece for a private performance on March 8 for workshop participants and their invited guests. You may register either in a pre-formed group or as an individual, in which case we’ll place you in an ensemble with compatible players.

Workshop Fees and Policies
The workshop cost is $252. Financial aid is available. A credit card is required to register. Your card will be charged automatically on the first day of each month for meetings in the coming month. As this is a group activity, absences cannot be made up.

Registration Deadline: December 28

About Your Coach
The child of two musicians, Nick Romeo grew up surrounded by classical music and played piano from an early age. He has worked at Interlochen Arts Academy and as a piano accompanist at Northwestern and Stanford Universities. His first job after college was on the editorial staff at Carnegie Hall, where he wrote program notes and features for their in-house publications. He loves chamber music as well as the vocal repertoire, and has performed the Goldberg Variations, complete song cycles of Schubert and Schumann, violin and piano sonatas by Bach, Brahms, Mozart and Beethoven, and much more repertoire.
