Fingerstyle Essentials for Beginning and Intermediate Guitarists

A native of Italy long established in the San Francisco Bay Area, Peppino D’Agostino has enjoyed a long career of composing, recording, teaching, and performing internationally. Among both audiences and fellow musicians he is known as a modern master of the acoustic guitar.

In four 90-minute weekly sessions, Peppino will guide you through proper body posture, right and left-hand positioning, and essential fingerstyle concepts.  He will demonstrate and teach fingerpicking patterns, arpeggios, hammer-ons, pull-offs, string bending, slide, percussion, and open tunings. You will also learn a few etudes in different musical styles as well as basic theory you can apply immediately to the fingerboard.

The price of the workshop is $270, including materials from Peppino D’Agostino’s publications which will be provided to you prior to the first meeting.

Peppino has shared the stage with Tommy Emmanuel, Leo Kottke, Laurindo Almeida, Sergio Assad, Larry Carlton, and Eric Johnson, among many. Recognized as “the guitarist’s guitarist” by Acoustic Guitar magazine, D’Agostino was voted Best Acoustic Guitarist by readers of Guitar Player magazine.  His composition “Stammi Vicino,” written with Stef Burns and Vasco Rossi, reached number one on the iTunes rock charts in Italy.
